Talent Show

The talent show was a great success! The theme was "Tioga Idol" and we did our own version of the popular show.

Katie Dean was the night's Emcee, and she did a great job opening the show for us. Then Ryan Seacrest (Aaron McWhorter) took over, introducing the night's contestants. We had our own version of Simon (Hunter Walthall) Randy (Will Green) Paula (Jaimie Hughes) and Cara (Ashleigh Holcomb). Nick Gambill handed out golden tickets!

The Tioga Idol contestants were:
Dylan Shannon
Kari Hughes
Abbie Harp
Payne Luneau
Brittany Barnett
Macie Ellis
Erin Crozier
Savannah Dombkowski
Dillon Bryant
Jacob Harp
Trevor McRae
Aaron Harp
Audrey Staples
Austin Hamner
Lauren Waller
Chelsea Hamner
Stormi Dutton

All of the contestants did a great job!

There were other "contestants" too, as we continued our version of the show. There was Danni Jo (Danielle Lintner) who dressed up like her guitar; Vanessa from Tennessee (Samantha Holcomb); The sisters who wouldn't be separated (Faith and Destiny Caperton) and The Five Amigo's doing "Pants on the Ground" (Jesus Romo, Gerardo Gonzales, Draven Lorance, JP Hoffman, and Hayden Minhinuett).

The night's winners were:
Third place: Lauren Waller
Second place: Dillon Bryant
First place and our new Tioga Idol: Abbie Harp

We raised almost $400 and part of the night's proceeds will go to the American Cancer Society. We would like to thank our real judges: Allie Echols, Dustin Echols, and Eric Bayer. We would also like to thank all of the teachers and parents who helped out!

On January 21, the cheerleaders help a Homecoming Pep Rally, where Elvis (our bulldog mascot) danced to "Hounddog" and other 50's classics. The basketball games began at 5:30 p.m. and activities were held throughout the evening. Events included the crowning of the Homecoming Prince & Princess, recognizing Tioga’s alumni (including a Tioga High School graduate from the class of 1946!), a performance from the cheerleading mini-camp participants, basketball skills and drills by the 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders, a raffle drawing, and much more!

The Homecoming Princess Candidates that made up our court included: Chalisa Smith, Reilley Hicks, Belen Gonzales, Katie Dean, and Faith Caperton.

The Snack Shack

Every Friday we have a refreshment cart selling goodies to students after school. The proceeds from the "Snack Shack" are divided between three different organizations: the student council, the cheerleaders, and the band.

This fund raiser will help our students raise money for many activities throughout the year.
