Tioga Homecoming

January 20 will be Tioga’s annual Homecoming Basketball Game. The theme this year is Tioga Five-0. Tioga Middle School Student Council and Cheerleaders are sponsoring various activities throughout Homecoming Week.

Students may participate in the following “Dress-Up” Days to show their school spirit. Students must continue to meet dress-code on the “Dress-Up Days.”
Monday, January 17 – “Pajama Day” - wear your pajamas to school
Tuesday, January 18 – “Miss-Match Day” – wear clothes that don’t match
Wednesday, January 19 – “Decade Day” – wear clothes from another time period (80’s, 50’s, 20’s, Middle Ages, etc)
Thursday, January 20 – “Spirit Day” – wear Tioga Bulldogs shirts or green and white
Friday, January 21 – “Hula Day” – wear clothes from Hawaii

Activities for Homecoming Day (Thursday) include a pep-rally at 2:45 in the gym and basketball games beginning at 5:00. There will be various other activities that evening including recognizing our 8th graders, school board members, and alumni. The Lil' Dowgs will be doing the cheer and dance they learned at camp and some of the elementary PE classes will be doing a basketball skills and drills presentation. The PTO will also be selling BBQ sandwiches at the game.

All 7th and 8th grade girls and boys will be eligible for Homecoming Prince and Princess. Tioga Middle School students in 5th through 8th grades will vote and the 5 students in each category who get the most votes will make up the court.

Tioga middle schools students in 5th through 8th grades will be invited to participate in a dance on Friday, January 21, from 6:30 to 9:30 in the cafeteria. All students must meet school dress-code. $3.00 will be charged for admission. Refreshments will be served. Drinks will be sold for $0.75.

Homecoming 2010

Tioga School held our 2nd Annual Tioga Homecoming Celebration on January 21, 2010. We celebrated all week with dress-up days that went along with the 1950's theme of Homecoming. Our dress up days included: Spirit Day, Zebra Day, Scarf and Bandana Day, 50's Day, and Crazy Sock Day.

On January 21, the cheerleaders help a Homecoming Pep Rally, where Elvis (our bulldog mascot) danced to "Hounddog" and other 50's classics. The basketball games began at 5:30 p.m. and activities were held throughout the evening. Events included the crowning of the Homecoming Prince & Princess, recognizing Tioga’s alumni (including a Tioga High School graduate from the class of 1946!), a performance from the cheerleading mini-camp participants, basketball skills and drills by the 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders, a raffle drawing, and much more!

The Homecoming Princess Candidates that made up our court included: Chalisa Smith, Reilley Hicks, Belen Gonzales, Katie Dean, and Faith Caperton.

The Homecoming Prince Candidates that made up our court included: Jesus Romo, Aaron McWhorter, Joe Khalaf, Josh Hill, and Gerardo Gonzales.

Our 2010 Homecoming Prince and Princess were Jesus Romo and Katie Dean.

On Friday January 22, in honor of Homecoming, the Student Council sponsored a sock-hop in the gym.
