NTIL Academic Meet
On Friday, December 3, students from 2nd grade to 8th grade participated in the NTIL Academic Meet. We competed in contests ranging from math, science, listening skills, and art memory to dictionary skills, social studies, writing, and story telling. Many of our students placed in the events.
Canned Food Drive
Red Ribbon Week
The Tioga Student Council sponsored Red Ribbon Week from October 25-29. Red Ribbon Week is the oldest and largest drug prevention campaign in the country.
We had the following dress-up days:
Monday - “Be a Hero; Don’t Do Drugs” – students dressed like hero
Tuesday - “Be Smart and Don’t Do Drugs” – students dressed like a ‘nerd’.
Wednesday - “Do Something with Your Life, Don’t Do Drugs,” – students (and teachers) dressed like a ‘couch potato.’
Thursday - “Too Cool For Drugs” – students wore hats and sunglasses
Friday - “Scare Away Drugs” – Students wore Halloween Costumes

Fall "Disco" Ball
Tioga Middle School Student Council is sponsoring a Fall “Disco” Ball on Friday, October 1, 2010. The dance is for Tioga Middle School students only. Dates, friends, and/or siblings who do not attend 5th-8th grade at Tioga Middle School are not allowed to attend. Parents are invited to chaperone. The cost of admission to the dance is $3.00. Students are required to stay at the dance once they arrive. If they leave, they will not be allowed to re-enter the dance. Refreshments will be served and drinks will be sold for $0.75. 2010-2011 - A New School Year
Student Council officer elections will take place on Friday, August 27. There are five officers. President who is the leader of the student council. Vice-President who helps the president. Secretary takes notes at the meetings. Treasurer keeps up with how much money the student council raises and how we spend it, and the Reporter who writes for the student council blog. You must be in the 7th or 8th grade to be an officer. If you haven’t gotten a form yet and would like to run for officer, you need to get a form from Mrs. Hamner. Forms must be turned in by Wednesday, August 25 and must be signed by your parents.
School registration forms need to be turned in by Friday, August 27.
Tuesday, August 31, will be our first volley-ball game here at 5:30.
Student Council Representatives will be elected on September 3. Forms to run for representative must be turned in by September 1 and be signed by your parents.
